Z. Cornell Bowden

Cornell is the Divisional President of Sheets Smith Investment Management, a Division of PVG Asset Management Corporation. Prior to joining PVG, Mr. Bowden was the Founder and President of Sheets Smith Investment Management, LLC. Mr. Bowden joined Sheets Smith Wealth Management Inc. in 2003 after being the Chief Investment Officer of Atlantic Capital Management, Ltd. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bowden served as Senior Vice President and equity strategist of Companion Capital Management Inc. Before joining Companion, he managed the co-mingled equity and money market funds of the Trust Department of Bankers Trust of South Carolina. He began his investment career as a securities analyst with Wachovia Bank and Trust Company, N.A. in 1972.

Mr. Bowden has extensive experience managing equity only and tactical asset allocation balanced portfolios. Since 2006, performance composites of his portfolios have been distinguished over 100 times as “Top Guns” by Informa Investment Solutions (now owned by Zepher). He currently serves as the lead portfolio manager for the active asset Allocation Balanced and Quantitative Equity portfolios. He has responsibility for the strategic and tactical asset allocation used to manage portfolio risk in these balanced portfolios as well as individual stock selection in both balanced and equity only accounts.

Cornell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Duke University and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Emory University.

Cornell is an Eagle Scout and enjoys fishing and woodworking. He also serves in various capacities at his local church.

Gregory C. Bowden

Greg is the Division Managing Director and Sr. Portfolio Manager of Sheets Smith Investment Management. Prior to joining PVG, he co-managed Sheets Smith Investment Management LLC’s portfolios since its inception in 2015. Prior to that, Mr. Bowden served in various Financial Planning & Analysis roles with Bristow Group, Inc., Melior Innovations, Inc. and Waste Management, Inc. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate venture capital investing, business valuations, and forecasting and budgeting.

Mr. Bowden holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Bioengineering degree from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science degree with Highest Honors in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has passed the Level II exam towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Mr. Bowden is an Eagle Scout. He enjoys fishing, golf and woodworking in addition to playing with his three young daughters. He is active in his church coordinating a men's ministry providing in-home repairs and handyman services to widows. He and his wife, Carrie, live in Houston, Texas.

Patrick S. Adams

Pat is the CEO and President of PVG Asset Management Corporation. Managing money since 1985, Mr. Adams prior experience includes serving as Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager for the Berger Mutual Funds, and as a portfolio manager for Kemper and the Dreyfus/Founders mutual funds. Adams was recognized as having an outstanding long-term track record at multiple large mutual fund families. Under Mr. Adams’ leadership, Berger Funds was recognized by Mutual Fund magazine as the nation’s second best performing Fund Company for multiple years. The Founders Balanced fund was the top ranked performing balanced fund for three years under his management and Barron’s magazine recognized Pat as having “All the Right Moves” and “Perfect Timing”. Patrick’s education includes an MBA from Xavier University and a BS from Ohio State University.

Eric Tesler

Eric leads Sheets Smith’s marketing and sales efforts and brings over 20 years of experience working with advisors on investment solutions. Eric joined the Sheets Smith team in 2019. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
